Overview of role

Job description

Daily activities:
Hold a morning meeting with sales staff
Review the previous day’s activities
Ensure the Sales Process is followed with EVERY customer
Check that the planned activities were completed
Ensure that showroom displays are tidy and organised
Conduct product training
Cost every deal
Chase up debtors
Follow up on outstanding registration documents
Chase up all vehicle PDI’s
Sign off supplier’s invoices
Update D.O.C

Weekly Requirements:
Conduct a physical stock take
Review and counsel sales executive’s performance
Review the previous week’s sales versus advertising
Call previous weeks customers
Follow up on all invoicing
Plan the next weeks advertising with Sales Executives
Follow up outstanding orders to suppliers

Monthly Requirements:
Conduct a full month end stock take
Review and counsel sales executive performance
Set sales targets for the new month
Devise a 60-day stock clearance action plan to DP and group MD
Calculate commissions with sales staff
Review the month’s performance against budget

The successful candidate will:
Be able to assume an operational management role
Ensure that sale targets are met monthly though effective management of the sales team and monitoring of advertising efforts
Oversee the management and coordination of all reporting activities for the organisation including: departmental revenue/expense
Ensure that all policies and procedure are adhered to

Requirements, Education and Experience

  • 5 – 10 years’ relevant experience in a new vehicle sales management position

  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organisation
  • Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
  • Ability to monitor and police adherence to established internal control policies and procedures
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation

Other Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong working knowledge of Excel
  • Excellent presentation skills
